Man Utd board disagree with Ten Hag on signing Chelsea star
A report via Manchester Evening News claimed Man Utd hierarchy are against Erik Ten Hag’s desire to sign Chelsea star and Morocco International Hakim Ziyech.
While the new Dutch coach feels the 29-year-old Chelsea star would be a good addition to the team, the club’s board doesn’t see it that way.
The report claimed the Red Devils’ hierarchy told Ten Hag to have ‘realistic expectations’ after losing his first home game to Brighton last weekend.
Ten Hag had told the Man Utd to make a move for Ziyech, but the board were split over a decision and decided to block the move.
It is no longer news that Chelsea are ready to let Ziyech leave this summer, with AC Milan reportedly his next destination.
The Morocco star moved to Stamford Bridge in a €40m (£33.3m) deal from Ajax in the summer of 2020 but has struggled to impress and has been unable to get a regular role in the team under coach Thomas Tuchel.
Ziyech has started just 14 games in the Premier League for Chelsea.
