Man City reportedly reject Chelsea £21.4 million bid for striker

Chelsea may have suffered a transfer blow in their bid to sign a new striker from Man City.

This comes as the report claims Man City have rejected a bid worth €25m (£21.4m) plus add-ons from Chelsea for forward Raheem Sterling this summer.

Sterling’s future at Chelsea is uncertain as he has only a few months left on his current contract at the club.

If Sterling remains at Etihad stadium next season, he would have to compete against Erling Braut Haaland and Julian Alvarez for game time.

Chelsea are keen on signing Sterling this summer, especially as their striker Romelu Lukaku is set to make a return to Inter Milan.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea regards Sterling as their primary target this summer and they have seen an opening offer of €25m (£21.4m) plus add-ons rejected by Man City.

Romano added that the Blues are planning to make a second bid for the England international, with Man City valuing the forward between €55m (£47.1m) and €60m (£51.4m).

Sterling joined Man City from Liverpool in 2015, and has scored 131 goals and created 95 assists in 339 appearances across all competitions, winning a total of 12 trophies.
