Chelsea have reportedly rejected the loan offer made by West Ham United for left-back Emerson Palmieri.

Emerson has become the second choice at Chelsea left-back after the arrival of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

The Italian has been linked with top European clubs during the ongoing transfer window but none of the clubs have been able to reach an agreement with Chelsea.

According to the Mirror, Chelsea have now rejected a loan offer from West Ham United for the defender who Frank Lampard still see as an important player in his squad.

Ben Chilwell’s fitness remains a concern for Frank Lampard and the English tactician believes Emerson has been doing a great job whenever he’s called upon.

With the Blues set to face Atletico Madrid in their round of 16 clashes, Frank Lampard will need all squad to strengthen and believes Emerson remain a suitable backup for Chilwell.

Signed from AS Roma in 2018, the Italian star has 18 months left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, he has made 64 appearances for the London club across all competitions.
