Legendary Brazilian defender insist star midfielder deserves a statue at Chelsea

Legendary Brazilian defender Roberto Carlos has insisted that Jorginho deserves a statue at Chelsea after his impressive performance for Italy at Euro 2020.

Roberto Mancini’s Italy defied all odds to win the European Championship and Jorginho was one of the best players in the tournament.

The former Napoli midfielder gave a good account of himself to help Italy lift the trophy for the first time since 1968, beating England in a penalty shoot-out at Wembley Stadium.

Though Jorginho missed his penalty kick, Roberto Carlos has nothing but praise for the Chelsea midfielder, noting that he knows the best thing to do while on the pitch.

Roberto Carlos while speaking with La Repubblica newspaper stated that any top team would miss Jorginho, including Brazil.

According to Carlos, Jorginho has technique, vision and this ice-cool calm and he always knows the best thing to do.

Carlos noted that Jorginho is fantastic at winning back the ball, his positioning is remarkable in that sense and he was decisive for Italy, and for Chelsea.

After he helped Chelsea win the Europa League and then Champions League, the English fans ought to build a statue of him.
