Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has reacted to his latest appointment as Everton coach.

This comes as Everton on Monday confirmed the former Blues boss as the club’s new manager.

Lampard joined the Toffees as a replacement for Rafael Benitez, who was sacked a few days ago.

The report revealed that the former England midfielder signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Everton.

Reacting to his appointment, Lampard, in statement, said it is a tremendous honour for him to manage a club with great tradition, adding that he cannot wait to get started.

Lampard said at his first conference after the appointment: “It’s a huge honour for me to represent and manage a club the size and tradition of Everton Football Club.

“I am very hungry to get started. After speaking to the owner, chairman and the board, I very much felt their passion and ambition.

“I think Everton is a unique club in that you can really understand what the fans want to see.”

Lampard had been out of a managerial role since his sack at Chelsea a year ago.
