Kovacic tells Man City to sign this player

Former Chelsea and now Man City midfielder Matteo Kovacic has advised the club on a player they should sign before the summer window closes.

This comes as Kovacic urged the Citizens to make a move for Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig.

Manager Pep Guardiola is said to have shown interest in signing the defender in what would be a record transfer.

Kovacic has now urged Guardiola to buy his compatriot, who he is tipping to step up to another level in the Premier League.

“He’s ready for Man City step. He can come to City and learn and be the best version of himself. I’d obviously like it!

“I’m a good friend with Josko and he’s Croatian. It would be nice to have a Croatian by my side here,” Kovacic said.

Meanwhile, although Gvardiol is Man City’s main target this summer, the EPL winners seem hesitant to meet Leipzig’s £85 million asking price for the 21-year-old defender.
