Klopp admits to seeing Chelsea struggle despite splashing millions on new players

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in a statement has admitted to being a little bit happy as Chelsea struggles this season despite splashing millions on new players in the last two transfer window.

Chelsea were said to have spent £600 million under their new owner Todd Boehly to secure the signings of new players.

In the January transfer window alone, Chelsea signed eight new players during the January transfer window, such as the British record £105m move for Enzo Fernandez and the £88m signing of Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk.

Despite the massive spending, Chelsea have struggled to impress and Klopp in his statement said the way the Blues signed new players was not the way to go for any team.

As of now, Chelsea are seated at the 12 spots on the EPL table, having lost their last match to Brentford.

Klopp in an interview with Sky Sports said: ‘I feel a little bit for Chelsea to be honest, because it’s not going well, I think they’re a top, top team, but on the other side it’s good to see that you cannot just bring top players together and think it works out,’ Klopp said.

‘You have to build a team and that’s what the guys there underestimated and gave their coaches a nearly impossible job to do.

‘You cannot have two dressing rooms, you cannot train on two pitches, you have to create relationships, you have to create team spirit, and that’s the only reason why I’m a little bit happy about it.’

Klopp, however, believes Chelsea will be incredibly strong next year.
