Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has finally revealed the truth behind his infamous League Cup bust-up with former blues manager Maurizio Sarri.

It would be recalled that Kepa Arizzabalaga took the limelight in February 2019 when Chelsea faced Manchester City in the league cup final at Wembley.

The entertaining match moved into extra time after a goalless 90 minutes and things changed when Kepa stayed down after making a save towards the end of the extras time.

With Caballero summoned to replace the Spaniard, Kepa refused to come off despite that his number appeared on the fourth official’s board.

Kepa refused to leave the pitch and this move left Sarri furious and angry.

However, Kepa while sharing details of the event on The Player’s Tribune stated that the drama was all a big misunderstanding.

According to Kepa, after making the save, he felt something in his leg and called for the physio to make sure it was nothing.

The former Atletico Bibao goalkeeper noted that he stood down to make sure that the team could catch our breath.

Kepa added that he was wrong, and he’s sorry for everyone who was involved, for Maurizio Sarri, who it seemed like he had undermined in public and for Caballero, a teammate and a great professional.
