Chelsea played Everton during the week in the Premier League and one of the highlights from the match was the moment the Blues manager, Thomas Tuchel was seen shouting at Timo Werner in the first half.

While many football lovers had seen the action by Tuchel as an insult, the Blues manager has stated that it was not an insult as he reveals the reason why he did so.

Tuchel in a statement ahead of Chelsea game vs. Leeds United stressed due to the absence of fans at the stadium, it made it appeared like he was shouting.

He added that he was only reminding Werner on positioning.

Tuchel said, ”we reminded Timo to rejoin his position on the right because he was on the left too long.”

According to Tuchel, switching positions is not a problem but he wanted Callum [Hudson-Odoi on the left and Timo on the right side to make things easier for him.

”We reminded him but it was not an insult or aggressive. It was direct,” he said.
