Legendary centre-back Franco Baresi has nothing but words of praise for Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori who is currently on loan at AC Milan.

Fikayo Tomori failed to establish himself as a first-team starter under Frank Lampard and had to be loaned out during the January transfer window.

His loan move to AC Milan has been fruitful as the 23-year-old has started to establish himself as a regular starter at San Siro.

Tomori has made seven starts in just over a month and Milan’s technical director Paolo Maldini recently heaped praise on him by highlighting his pace and intensity.

This has now been complemented by Baresi who. beleives the Chelsea academy graduate has a long way to go.

Speaking to Daily Mail, Baresi stated that
Tomori is young and has played well so far when he’s had the chance.

According to Baresi, Tomori is skilful and has great physical attributes and he is still adapting to the Italian league but he thinks the young England international can only grow as a defender and help us out.

Baresi added that Tomori needs to be focused on the present and on doing well with AC Milan as the club will decide his future with him and with Chelsea at the end of the season.

The legendary defender noted that there is great competition in England, but Tomori is definitely one of the most promising prospects out there as his experience with AC Milan will certainly help him develop as a player.
