Havertz wins Chelsea’s goal for the month of match

Chelsea star Kai Havertz has won the highest number of votes to bag the club’s goal of the month for March.

Havertz’s goal against Leicester City made the eight-strong list of nominations, and fans picked it as their chosen goal.

A third of the votes cast were for the German for a goal that was equally about the assist, Enzo Fernandez providing a delicious pass over the top of the Foxes’ backline that fell perfectly for the finish.

Coming close to Havertz in the poll was Ben Chilwell’s volley from out wide at his old stomping ground, which received 28 per cent and with 19 per cent of the votes, Mateo Kovavic’s acrobatic effort in the same game was third.

Before Havertz, Lauren James had won the goal of the month of February with his goal vs Tottenham.

While Sam Kerr won the January goal of the month with a goal vs Liverpool.
