Gallas names this Chelsea defender among the best in the EPL

Chelsea star, William Gallas in a recent statement, named his two best defenders in the Premier League.

Gallas named Chelsea defender and Brazil international Thiago Silva as one of the two best defenders in the EPL, the other being Man City Dias Ruben.

The former Blues star snubbed the likes of Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Manchester United’s Raphael Varane.

Gallas, a former France international, spent more than ten years in the English Premier League and won two titles at Chelsea before signing for Arsenal in 2006.

He was at Emirate stadium for four seasons before moving to Tottenham Hotspur, where he stayed until 2013.

Gallas, in a statement with Genting Casino, said when asked about the best EPL defender said, “I will speak about two players. I will speak about Thiago Silva because, he always finds the edge. I think what he does for Chelsea, it’s magnificent.

“…Thiago Silva is 36 years old. He is the boss of that defence. He’s mature, he’s got experience.

“Thiago Silva, with his experience, he takes all the pressure on his shoulder..

“So that’s why Chalobah, Rudiger, Christensen play so well. Thiago Silva is one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

‘But as well, you’ve got Ruben Dias at Man City. He is a very strong, and a very thoughtful defender…”
