Fulham star told to join Chelsea over Man Utd
Former Tottenham Hotspur star, Darren Bent has sent a piece of advice to Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic on the next club to move to.
Bent, who said Mitrovic is ready for a big transfer urged him to move to Chelsea instead of Manchester United as the west London side would be a good fit for him because of the likes of Blues full-backs Ben Chilwell and Reece James.
So far this season, Mitrovic has impressed for Fulham, scoring 11 goals in 15 Premier League games.
He also scored 43 goals in 44 matches in the Championship last season, helping Fulham earn a promotion to the Premier League.
“I think he is [ready for a big move]. He scores a lot of goals for Serbia. I think he is their all-time record goalscorer. The only thing about Mitrovic is that if you bring him in, you are going to have to play in a particular way,” Bent told talkSPORT.
“You have to give him service and get the ball into the box because that is where he is at his best. He gets across the defender, is really strong in the air, holds up the ball but is not the quickest.”
He continued, “Mitrovic needs service, and I think that the way Manchester United play and breaks with pace, it might not suit him. With the way that Ten Hag plays, are they going to revert to playing a certain way with Mitrovic in? Probably not, but he can play at the top, top level.
“When you look at their wing-backs, the likes of Reece James and Ben Chilwell and the way they fling crosses in, he would thrive in that system.”
