With Chelsea coming under new ownership led by Todd Boehly’s led consortium, there are bound to be new changes at the club.

Aside from signing new players which are expected to happen this summer transfer window, Chelsea could also welcome one or two former players joining the club’s hierarchy.

According to the Daily Mail, one of the plans that will take place at Stamford Bridge will be including a former player or two on the new Chelsea board.

The report added that the new owners will consider adding a former player to Chelsea’s hierarchy in the future.

There are beliefs that the reason for this decision is because they are taking a cue from the success of Bayern Munich legends Franz Beckenbauer and Uli Hoeness being honorary presidents at the German club, and Edwin van der Sar is chief executive at Ajax.

While there are no details on who the former player could be, the player is likely to be a former England international who once played for Chelsea.
