Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte could return to football management next season as he has been linked to Serie A side Napoli.

Conte is no doubt one of the top managers with a wealth of experience in top-flight football in Euorpe.

He was previously in the Premier League where he coached Chelsea and then Tottenham Hotspur, which he exited March 2023, following disappointing results in both domestic and European competitions.

Since his sack at Tottenham, Conte has been away from football management, biding his time and awaiting the right moment to make a come back.

It, however, looks like the moment is here as a recent report via Italian broadcaster RAI revealed the former Chelsea boss has already agreed terms with Napoli which included a three-year contract valued at €6.5 million (£5.56m/$7m) per season.

The report added that Conte had included a clause whereby Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will refrain from sharing his opinion in football-related matters, granting the manager full autonomy in club affairs.

We will have to wait to see if Conte will return to the dug out with the Naples next season.

Conte is expected to take over from Francesco Calzona, Napoli’s acting caretaker manager until the end of the season, following the sacking of Walter Mazzarri.
