Former Chelsea and Inter Milan coach, Antonio Conte in a recent statement has revealed why he turned down the offer to become Tottenham, next coach.

Recall that a few weeks ago, Conte was being tipped to become the Hotspur coach ahead of the new season.

However, midway into the contract talks, the reports revealed that the Italian and the English club couldn’t reach an agreement.

Well, Conte in a recent statement has revealed why he turned down the offer as he said he was not convinced by the project being sold to him by the club’s board.

Speaking on why he rejected a move to Tottenham, Conte was quoted by Metro UK as saying, “Money is not my obsession.

“I look at projects and I am ready to stay at home if they don’t convince me.”

“I like difficult challenges, but if there is something with a club that does not convince me, I prefer to say: no, thank you.”

Conte had been tipped to replace Jose Mourinho who was sacked at Tottenham but has now gotten a new job in the Italian Seria A with AS Roma.

Having left Inter Milan last season despite leading them to victory in the Seria A, it is unknown if he is considering a return to San Siro.
