Former Chelsea boss hails Tuchel

Former Chelsea manager and England veteran footballer, Frank Lampard has reacted to Thomas Tuchel statement about him.

Tuchel who replaced Lampard in January has been full of praises for the England star.

While Chelsea sacked Lampard after they dropped out of the top six on the Premier League, Tuchel has been able to return the team to the top four as they currently sit at the third spot on the log table.

However, Tuchel has continued to link he succeeds to the work that had been done by Lampard. According to him, Lampard made the foundation on which he has been building on this season.

Reacting to Tuchel’s statement about him, Lampard hailed the current Blues manager.

Lampard said: “I appreciated his (Tuchel’s) words last week.

“I was pleased to hear them because I think it’s right. I’m not just giving myself credit. But if I was in his shoes I would certainly speak like that so he’s giving me credit for the first half of the season.

“He’s taken it on and I’ll give him credit for that as well because to reach two finals and to be in contention for the top four, I know that battle from last year, we were in it last year and it’s tough battle, especially in the run-in.”
