Former Chelsea playmaker, Cesc Fabregas in a recent statement has revealed the one player that made him leave Stamford Bridge.

Recall that Fabregas left Chelsea in 2019 following the arrival of Maurizio Sarri at the club after 5 years at the club.

Fabregas in his statement has however fingered Italy international as the reason for his departure.

With Jorginho’s arrival at Chelsea, the 34-year-old saw his game time reduced as he made only six Premier League appearances in his last season at Chelsea.

This was because Sarri opted for a three-man midfield with Jorginho being the focal point.

Fabregas in his statement however applauded Jorginho ahead of Italy’s 3-0 win over Turkey in their Euro 2020.

He said on BBC One: “One of the biggest reasons I left Chelsea is because of him (Jorginho).

“He’s a very smart player, intelligent, a very good passer of the ball. The only thing I can say about him sometimes is he releases the ball too quickly when he can play forward.”

Jorginho has however been linked with returns to the Italian Seria A especially since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel who now favours N’Golo Kante as his key player in the Blues midfielder.
