Recall that Arsenal were reported to be among the top clubs in the race to sign Ben White from Brighton this summer.

The report disclosed that Brighton had fixed White’s transfer fee at £50 million with some reports stressing that the Gunner may not be able to afford it, thus tipping the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd as the favourites to sign him.

However, the latest report has claimed that Arsenal are ready to pay £50m for the defender who still has three years left to run on his contract with Graham Potter’s side.

The recent report claimed that Arsenal are firmly in the race, and according to The Athletic, the Gunners are now preparing a bid for his services.

The report claimed that the North London club could potentially do a deal at £40m, but Mikel Arteta’s side would be willing to go as high as £50m due to their interest in the defender.

The 23-year-old defender came to the spotlight following an impressive 2020-21 campaign for the Seagulls.

His performance last season has also earned him a spot in the England squad for this summer’s European Championship which commenced on Friday.
