Chelsea suffered defeat to Man City in the Premier League over the weekend in a game that ended in a 1-0 scoreline.

However, former football star and pundit Rio Ferdinand has pointed two key moments he believed cost Chelsea defeat vs Man City.

According to Ferdinand, the first was a one-on-one chance missed by Romelu Lukaku in the second-half, one Ederson rushed from his goal to palm away, the second was when the way Chelsea defence and goalkeeper handled the shot from Man City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

“You have to feed him but today he got one good chance, the one chance he would’ve been thinking about last night,” Ferdinard said.

“Your goalkeeper and your defenders, you have a conversation before the game. If there’s someone coming into particular areas we know that you’re going to stand that side and I’ll cover the other side of the goal.

“I think if you don’t have those conversations then where the confusion lies and you end up trying to take steps to cheat a little bit and you get caught out.

“That’s the question, are they having those conversations to know which areas of the goal you’re going to cover in those situations.”
