Chelsea have dropped from the second spot on the EPL table to the third spot.

The Blues had failed to win three points against Man City in their EPL clash on Saturday.

While they remained at the second spot for a few hours, Liverpool have overtaken them and are the new team on the second spot.

This comes after the Reds defeated Brentford during their weekend clash in a game that ended in a 3-0 scoreline.

The Red had three goals thanks to Fabinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Takumi Minamino.

Liverpool leapfrog Chelsea in the table and have now closed the gap on league toppers Manchester City to 11 points with a game in hand.

The victory against Brentford ends a three-game winless run in the top flight, but extends Liverpool’s Premier League winning streak at Anfield to five matches as Jurgen Klopp’s men made light of the absences of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Liverpool could have scored more goals as they had more chance to do so vs Brentford.

While the Reds are at the second spot with 42 points, Brentford remain 14th in the Premier League table, 10 points away from the relegation zone.
