EPL: Newcastle Utd vs Chelsea – Predictions

Newcastle Utd will this weekend host Chelsea in the premier league at the St. James Stadium.

Chelsea, led by Thomas Tuchel, will head to the match with complete confidence following their victory vs Southampton in the Carabao League tournament and their last weekend game vs Norwich in the EPL, which ended in a 7-0 scoreline.

Tuchel is expected to start his key players vs the Magpies, which Saudi Consortium recently bought.

Newcastle Utd have not been impressive this season as they currently sit at the bottom of the league table and are close to going on relegation this season.

Their recent matches to Crystal Palace ended in a 1-1 draw while Tottenham defeated them in their last two games.

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson ahead of the weekend match, has tipped the Blues to win.

Commenting on the Newcastle vs Chelsea tie, Merson told Sportskeeda, “Chelsea have rested most of their players this week. They made loads of changes in the Carabao Cup, and I don’t think they can be stopped this weekend. Newcastle United are an absolute disaster at the moment, and I don’t see anything but a Chelsea win here. Chelsea 3, Newcastle 0.”
