EPL: Dy Bryune makes bold claim as Man City go top ahead of Liverpool, Chelsea
Manchester City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, has made a bold title claim for his side as they go top ahead of Liverpool and Chelsea, who are seated at the second and third spots on the league table.
De Bruyne, in his statement claimed that goal difference might play a vital role in the Premier League title race this season.
The Man City midfielder made this known after the Citizens thrashed Leeds United 7-0 on Tuesday night to go top of the Premier League log.
Their latest win means Man City, led by coach Pep Guardiola are currently seated at the number one position on the log with 41 points from 17 games.
Speaking during his post-match press conference after Man City demolished Leeds, the Belgium international said, “Yes, but now for the moment we just have to maintain the good level and try to win game by game. Obviously, it helps (the goal difference).
“But that is something that can help at the end of the year (season). That’s not something we should think about… It’s one hell of a competition.
“Even outside the top three, it’s very hard to win every game and you saw a lot of games, like Wolves and West Ham, where you win with one goal difference.
“It’s still going to be a hell of a race this year, but we are going to try.”
