Deal Close: Chelsea star close to joining Barcelona

Chelsea may have to finally bid goodbye to their defender Andreas Christensen at the end of this season.

This comes as reports from Spain claimed Christensen’s link to Barcelona is now a real deal.

The Denmark international will see his contract lapse at the end of this season, and so far, there are no details on him reaching a new agreement with Chelsea for a possible extension.

football.london reports that a contract offer has been on the table for Christensen for some time now, but the 25-year-old has not accepted the renewal.

However, in the latest report, according to Cadena SER, via Sport Witness, Barcelona are very interested in Christensen’s services, and talks between the club and the player’s entourage are advanced.

On the other hand, Chelsea are yet to table a new offer with the defender, which means he is on his way out already.

Despite Thomas Tuchel’s statement towards the end of last year that Christensen wouldn’t play for the Blues until his future at the club was clear, the Denmark star has gone on to make eight appearances since then.
