EPL: Chelsea could be this Arsenal star’s next destination

A recent report has claimed that Arsenal out of favour striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could end up at Chelsea in this ongoing January transfer window.

This claim was made by former Chelsea and West Ham star Carlton Cole, who said Aubameyand could join Chelsea this January.

The Gabon international who is unwanted at Arsenal has, however, been linked to Juventus, Barcelona and Newcastle.

This comes after Aubameyang was stripped of the club captaincy and stopped from training with the club’s first team after he was accused of a disciplinary breach.

Cole, however, believes the past relationship between the striker and Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel during their time together at Borussia Dortmund could be a significant factor to make him move to Stamford Bridge.

“He’s not going to go down and start battling relegation, I can’t see that happening,” Cole told Stadium Astro.

“If he goes up to Newcastle and then gets relegated with Newcastle, where does that leave him?

“If you look at it, Chelsea are in need of a striker as well.

“Imagine that, you never know! Stranger things have happened. It’s still London, do you know what I mean?

“Look at the history… Dortmund, Tuchel and Aubameyang… they know each other and he knows what he gets out of him.

“… I’m just saying it’s a possibility because everything’s a possibility in football.”
