After he criticised Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel’s football style, Belgium international Romelu Lukaku was dropped out of the Blues squad and vs Liverpool on Sunday.

However, the reports from the last few hours revealed that the Belgian striker has admitted his mistake during his controversial interview with Sky Italia and has since returned to training with the rest of the Blues squad.

According to the Daily Mail, Lukaku showed remorse for his comments, and there are chances that he will be back in the squad for Wednesday’s EFL Cup semi-final first leg with Tottenham Hotspur.

The report, however, added that some players at Chelsea believe that Lukaku should be handed a formal punishment for the interview, and the club owner Roman Abramovich would support Tuchel in taking such action.

During the wake of his comment, Lukaku was linked with an immediate exit from Stamford Bridge, but the new reports have revealed he will not leave the club this season.

Hopefully, he will get to start or at least make the bench when the Blues face Tottenham.
