Chelsea returned to winning ways on Saturday in the Premier League after they defeated Southampton in a 3-1 scoreline.

This comes after the West London club had suffered double defeats in a row to Man City and Juventus in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, respectively.

The Blues recent win over Southampton has seen them moved to the top of the table, and they could remain there depending on the outcome of the Sunday match.

Chelsea, who were already feeling the pressure following their recent defeats, were sharp during their games vs Southampton.

Trevoh Chalobah gave the Blues the lead goal after a diving header from him.

The Blues defender, Ben Chilwell, gave a penalty away to Southampton as James Ward-Prowse scored against Eduoard Mendy, thus making the game a 1-1 draw.

However, the game changed in Chelsea’s favour after Ward-Prowse was shown a straight red for a hard tackle on Thiago Silva.

Chelsea striker Timo Werner and Chilwell would later score in the last ten minutes to seal the win and confirm their spot in the top four on the log.
