Bayer Leverkusen affirm solid Chelsea interest in talented young playmaker

Bayer Leverkusen have openly recognized Chelsea’s enthusiasm for their talented youngster, Kai Havertz, but have also repeated their now clear aims to keep hold of the 21-year-old until the end of their Europa League campaign, at whatever point that might be.

That is essentially what Rudi Völler said a week ago too, with the one contrast of obviously referencing Chelsea (I state clearly in light of the fact that we just have this recycled tweet from Romano), and obviously Bayer Leverkusen having restarted their Europa League campaign now.

Bayer Leverkusen and Kai Havertz are into the quarterfinals of the tournament after eliminating Rangers prior this week, and if they make it to the last, any potential transfer should wait for more weeks.

The Europa League final will be played on Friday, August 21.

However, at the end, that is not so much an issue. With Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Völler affirming enthusiasm from Chelsea explicitly (presently that Bayern have formally dropped out), it’s most likely just a short time before we pay the money and welcome Kai Havertz to the Stamford Bridge.

Deal CLOSE: Chelsea will have to wait to sign young talented playmaker after Bayer Leverkusen beat Rangers

Bayer Leverkusen are playing Inter Milan in the quarterfinals on Monday. It’s not been an incredible season for Antonio Conte in Milan, and he may yet get the boot after only one year because of his upheaval after the last match of the season, however he can do us (and himself) a pleasant kindness by eliminating with Leverkusen.
