Chilwell speaks as he signs new contract with Chelsea
Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell has penned a new deal, which will keep him at Stamford Bridge until at least the summer of 2027.
The deal was finalised on Tuesday and Chilwell in a statement via Chelsea’s website revealed how pleased he was to be a part of the club’s long-term project.
‘I feel very settled at Chelsea and have really enjoyed my time on the pitch here so I’m very pleased the club want me to be part of the project long-term, and am very happy to sign this extension to my contract.
‘We are working hard for success and I will do my best to bring more smiles to the faces of the fans who have made me feel so welcome.’
Chilwell had signed for Chelsea in 2020 when the Blues’ current interim manager Frank Lampard was head coach.
Since then, Chilwell has made 80 appearances for Chelsea and scored nine goals in all competitions.
The defender made the Blues squad to face Real Madrid tonight and he could get a nod to start at the back.
