Now former Chelsea star and Denmark defender, Andreas Christensen in a recent statement has opened up on why he left the Premier League side for Spain.

Christensen was one of the Blues players that left the club for the Spanish La Liga this summer, another is Antonio Rudiger who joined Real Madrid.

According to Christensen, signing for Barcelona is a “dream come true” as he was a supporter of the club as a child.

The 26-year-old moved to the LaLiga club as a free agent after the expiration of his contract at Chelsea in June.

While the Blues tried to offer him a new contract, the Danish star was focused on leaving the club.

He has now penned a deal until June 2026 with Barcelona.

“I grew up watching Barcelona. Ronaldinho and Deco were my favourite players.

“I’m so happy and I was waiting a long time for this day to arrive. I’m very excited to get started.

“It’s true that I had other options and good teams showed interest in signing me, but when you have a dream you don’t hesitate. Dreams can come true,” Christensen told a news conference.”
