Any hopes of Andreas Christensen staying at Chelsea for another season depends on the future of Thiago Silva which looks settled.

Thiago Silva joined Chelsea on a free transfer deal from Paris Saint-Germain and has become one of the important players in the team.

The former AC Milan defender has been showing his class in defence, forming a great partnership with Kurt Zouma earlier in the season and with Antonio Rudiger for the past few weeks.

His form has seen Fikayo Tomori being loaned out while Andreas Christensen has been used on some occasions when the Brazilian is out injured or rested.

Now, according to football. london, Chelsea will now have to choose between Andreas Christensen and Thiago Silva.

The reports stated that Andreas Christensen might be leaving the club if Thiago Silva is given a new one year deal as the 24-year-old defender wants to be a  prominent figure in a team.

Chelsea could also decide to cash in on Andreas Christensen as the blues are not willing to let him leave the club on a free transfer deal.

Christensen’s current deal at Stamford Bridge is due to expire in 18 months and he has represented Chelsea on 10 occasions in all competitions during the 2020-21 campaign.
