Chelsea still keen on signing Inter Milan forward

Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez is supposedly still a transfer target for Chelsea this summer.

The Argentina international was firmly connected with a move to Barcelona during the last summer’s transfer window but stayed with Inter Milan and has enjoyed another amazing campaign.

The 23-year-old has scored 17 times and registered nine assists in 39 appearances in all competitions for Inter Milan during the 2020-21 season.

Lautaro Martinez said recently that he was close to signing another long term deal with Inter, however there has still not been an official announcement, and Barcelona have recently been credited with an interest once again.

As indicated by ESPN, Chelsea see the South American as a possible alternative to Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Braut Haaland, who is apparently wanted by various top European clubs.

The Argentina international, also recently connected with Manchester City and Manchester United, has scored 47 goals in 123 appearances for Inter Milan since arriving from Racing Club in 2018.

Chelsea are supposed to be on the lookout for one new striker because of the uncertainty encompassing the fates of Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham.
