Chelsea are close to sealing a deal for their first player under the new manager of Todd Boehly’s led consortium which took over the reins of the club a few days ago.

The Blues are said to be close to finalising a deal that will see them welcome Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele this summer.

Tuchel trained Dembele during their time together at the German club Borussia Dortmund.

With the Barcelona winger out of contract this summer, Tuchel is hoping they reunite at Stamford Bridge.

According to talkSPORT, Chelsea are close to agreeing on a deal to bring Dembele to the Premier League. After signing for Barcelona for a fee of £135.5m (also via talkSPORT), signing Dembele on a free transfer could go down as one of the bargains of the summer.

While there are no doubts about the French winger’s talent, he is however prone to injuries which affected his progress at Camp Nou.

If Tuchel can bring back the top form Dembele was known for in Dortmund, the 25-year-old would shine in the EPL.

None of the Blues”s wingers were overly impressive this season, with Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic, and Hakim Ziyech not putting up top form.
