Chelsea reportedly willing to pay £42 million for Hazard
It appears the Blues are keen on bringing Belgium striker Eden Hazard back to Stamford as the latest reports have claimed that the club’s hierarchy are willing to pay £42 million to Real Madrid for their former player.
Recall that Hazard forced a move away from Stamford Bridge in 2019 in a deal that saw the Los Blancos agreeing to a deal worth in the region of £130m.
However, since his move to the Spanish La Liga, the former Chelsea talisman has struggled with injuries and failed to perform at Real Madrid.
With Hazard’s current contract set to lapse in 2024, the chances of him getting an extension at Real Madrid is very low as they are considering swapping him for Liverpool’s striker Mo Salah.
Recall that earlier this month; the reports claimed that the Blues are interested in re-signing their former talisman, providing that they can negotiate a deal with Madrid.
According to El Nacional, the European champions have told the Los Blancos that they are prepared to pay £42m for Hazard.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is, however, demanding that the Blues pay a slightly bigger fee.
The reports claim the transfer could happen in the summer transfer window.
