Chelsea reportedly set to swap this striker for Lewandoski
As the January transfer window moves closer, there are bound to be different transfer speculations.
In this case, there are speculations of swap transfer that would involve Chelsea’s Timo Werner and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.
The report alleged that a swap deal had been discussed.
Despite being a key player at the Allianz Arena, Lewandowski has 19 months left on his current contract with Bayern Munich; he is, however, known to be ready to take up a new challenge if it comes calling.
On the other, Werner has struggled to perform up to expectations at Stamford Bridge and has continued to be linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge.
Journalist Ian McGarry in a statement on the Transfer Window Podcast said that a swap deal involving the two players had been talked about behind the scene.
McCarry said: “It is certainly the case that he (Pini Zahavi) has offered Lewandowski to Chelsea and [Marina] Granovskaia.
“A move which could include Werner going to Bayern. The prospect for [Thomas] Tuchel and Werner is appealing and is being discussed.”
Although Lewandowski and Werner are at different career stages, there are claims that they will command the same price tags in the current market.
