Chelsea reportedly interested in this Juventus defender
A new report has claimed that Chelsea are interested in signing Juventus defender and the Netherlands international, Matthijs de Ligt.
The reports claimed that the Blues have been in contact with De Ligt’s agent, Mino Raiola, regarding a potential transfer of the Dutch defender to Stamford Bridge.
According to Calciomercato, via The Chelsea Chronicle, a number of European clubs, including Chelsea, have spoken with Raiola recently about possibly signing De Ligt in the near future.
The move for De Ligt may mean Chelsea are preparing for life ahead of the departure of Thiago Silva.
Also, the Blues are on the verge of losing German defender Antonio Rudiger, who has failed to put pen to paper to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge.
According to the reports, Rudiger is demanding a higher wage than what Chelsea are willing to pay.
With the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich willing to give the German defender the wage, he wants he could depart Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.
There are, however, indications that the Blues could sign out Rudiger in the January transfer window if no agreement is reached before then, as they don’t want to lose him for free in the summer.
