Former football star Emmanuel Petit has predicted that Chelsea will defeat the Spanish side Real Madrid in the UCL quarter-final.

Recall that the last time Chelsea and Real Madrid met in the competition, the Blues defeated the Los Blancos 3-1 on aggregate, and that was in the semi-finals of last season’s Champions League.

Petit believes it will be the same thing when the two sides meet next month as the Blues look to become only the second team to retain the trophy.

Petit was asked if the Blues can beat the La Liga leaders and the former Blues midfielder told Lord Ping: “Of course they can.

“Did you watch the El Clasico? I was at the game [against PSG] and it appeared PSG were the better team in both games and should have scored at least five or six goals.

“When you look at Chelsea they have so many players who can hurt you in their team. I’m pretty sure that Chelsea will go through.”

Real Madrid have been in a poor lately, they suffered an embarrassing defeat to Barcelona in the El Classico last weekend.
