Chelsea goalie extends contract till 2026
Chelsea third-choice goal keeper Marcus Bettinelli in a recent post took to his social media time to reveal he has signed a new contract at Chelsea.
Bettinelli, who moved to Stamford Bridge back in 2021, has now extended his stay at the club till the summer of 2026.
He is the third-choice keeper at Chelsea behind Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy, who have been tipped to leave the club this summer.
Bettinelli has struggled to get game time so far during his Chelsea career, making just one first-team appearance for the club to date.
His only game time for the Blues was during an FA Cup third-round tie last season against Chesterfield.
Despite, the limited playing chances, he seems to be happy and content with being a back-up goalkeeper.
There are no details of how Bettinelli’s new contract would affect Gabriel Slonina, who’s the Blues’ highly rated 18-year-old keeper.
Should Mendy and Kepa remain at Chelsea next season, Slonina may be sent out on loan to a Championship club to help him develop.
