Chelsea are yet to sign a new player this summer and are determined to complete a transfer as soon as possible.

A report via the UK Mirror disclosed that the Blues’ bid to sign Raheem Sterling from Manchester City could be wrapped up this week.

The report claimed that Chelsea’s new owner, Todd Boelhy, has personally made contact with Man City with a formal bid set to follow.

Man City may be willing to sell Sterling, who has one year left on his current contract for around £55m.

Sterling is also keen on leaving Etihad, as he is desperate to get more playing time elsewhere and Chelsea could be the next club.

The West London side are on alert and manager Thomas Tuchel is very keen on signing Sterling as he has outlined his vision to him and how he would fit into his plans.

Sterling’s move to Chelsea if it happens would be one of the biggest deals this summer, with an England international switching between two Premier League rivals.
