Chelsea could offload this player in 2023
Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit has said the Blues could offload their midfielder and France international N’Golo Kante in 2023.
Kante, who enjoyed an outstanding career for both club and country has been struggling with injuries of late.
So fat this season, Kante has played just 175 minutes of football for Chelsea as he struggled with a knee injury and then a muscle injury.
The French midfielder is already in the final year of his contract at Chelsea and will be allowed to enter his pre-contract negotiations with foreign clubs in January 2023.
Petit believes Kante can no longer play a proper game due to injury and could be allowed to depart Stamford Bridge next year.
“Kante has been tremendous for years and years. He’s been running around the world all the time, but I can understand Chelsea’s position,” Petit told Getting Casino.
“How can they pay so much money for someone who is always injured? He cannot play a proper game.”
He continued, “I heard he’s back in training and will be fit soon, but I understand Chelsea’s position. He will be a great bargain if he doesn’t sign a contract as he will be available for free and some clubs will be interested to get him for sure.”
