Chelsea close to signing Montpellier striker

Chelsea have been linked with the moves to sign a new striker this summer as they continue with their plan to slim their squad under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Blues are said to be closing in on a deal for Montpellier striker, Elye Wahi this summer transfer window.

A report via French media outfit, L’Equipe revealed that the west London club have agreed personal terms with Wahi.

Should the deal finally become a reality, the Blues are tipped to loan Wahi to their affiliate club, Strasbourg for the 20230-2024 season.

Wahi, on the other hand, is not keen on the Blues idea and may rule out leaving Montpellier for a contract with the EPL club.

The France Under-21 international broke into the Montpellier first team back in 2020 and has been impressive for them so far.

Through his 102 appearances for Montpellier, Wahi has managed to score 35 goals for them.
