Chelsea advised against signing this striker with no EPL experience

Chelsea are in the race to sign a new striker this summer transfer window and have been linked with several players including Nico Williams.

However, a former Chelsea defender, Glen Johnson, has sent the Blues message concerning their move for the 21-year-old forward.

Johnson believes a deal for Williams from Athletic Bilbao this summer might not end well especially as the Spain international doesn’t have an experience playing in the Premier League.

The former football believes the Blues need an experienced attacker who has played in the Premier League to bolster their front line next season.

He pointed out that Williams is probably better than a few players Chelsea already have in their team.

Johnson in via BetFred said the Blues have so many youngsters but need need more experience in the team to compete for trophies next season.

According to the former player, the Blues need match winners and experienced players rather than an entire squad of young gems.

Recall that Chelsea former Nicolas Jackson has struggled to score goals for the club, leaving the Blues to rely on winger Cole Palmer and others for goals last season.
