Chelsea star Benoit Badiashile recently took to social media to express his excitement as he scored a goal during their win over Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

Recall that Badiashile had been sidelined with a hamstring injury he sustained in training in May.

He was in Cobham throughout the summer to undertake his rehabilitation programme, where countless hours of unseen work were done in the gym and with the medical staff.

By the end of September, the France international had undertaken partial team training. By mid-October, he was back working with the first-team squad.

He started against Blackburn Rovers and scored the opening goal for Chelsea.

‘I’m so happy to be able to help the team with this goal,’ Badiashile said after the win.

‘It has been a difficult period for me because I’ve not been on the pitch, but I’m very happy to now be back with the team.’

Badiashile also highlighted the importance of bouncing back after a frustrating defeat to Brentford at the weekend.

‘When you lose a game, you have a bad feeling,’ he said. ‘But as players, you have to be focused on the next game.

‘A win is always something great for the feeling [of the team]. It was a tough game but we got the win. That is what’s most important.’
