Brazil star reacts to his unexpected return to Chelsea

Brazil international Robert Kenedy has reacted to his unexpected recall to Stamford Bridge by Chelsea.

Kenedy, in a statement, revealed the recall to Stamford Bridge came to him as a surprise.

The Brazil star, who was on a season-long loan at Flamengo, was recalled to help the Blues sort out their defensive crisis after the injuries to some key players like Ben Chilwell, who is out of the team for the rest of the season.

Kenedy stressed that he was ‘taken by surprise,’ adding that it all happened so fast.

“I was taken by surprise. I found out on Wednesday night around 11pm. Everything happened very fast,” the Brazilian told reporters at Rio de Janeiro airport before jetting off for London.

“Chelsea had a contract with Flamengo. They asked me to present myself, and I’m presenting myself.

“It was Flamengo that told me. I’m just fulfilling the contract.”

Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has promised to give Kenedy a chance in his squad to prove himself.

The Brazil could make the Chelsea squad to play Man City later today.
