Best in England: Arsenal hailed for signing this player

Former Liverpool star John Barnes has hailed Arsenal for signing Declan Rice, who he described as the best midfielder from West Ham this summer.

Barnes said the English star is a great signing for Arsenal as he is one of the best in England in his position as a defensive midfielder.

Recall that the Gunners recently signed Rice from West Ham in a deal that cost them a whooping sum of £105 million.

Speaking to Stats Perform (h/t LiveScore), Barnes said, “Declan Rice, for a defensive midfield player, I think is one of the best in the country, if not the world, so, therefore, he is a great signing for Arsenal.

“He is very, very good. I would have loved him at Liverpool, but obviously, he wanted to go to Arsenal. He is a London boy.”

Arsenal signed Rice to bolster their squad next season when they will be competing in the Champions League.
