Benfica star wants to move to Chelsea

The reports have claimed that Enzo Fernandez has told Benfica he wants to leave the club for a move to Chelsea.

According to the Guardian, Chelsea could return to the negotiation table this week and get the deal done for the Argentina international before the end of the January transfer window.

Chelsea had attempted to sign Fernandez at the start of the January transfer window but the deal had fallen through.

Despite already signing the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke this January, the Blues are keen on signing a new midfielder.

Chelsea’s desire to sign a new midfielder is likely because of the likelihood that Italian midfielder Jorginho could leave at the end of the season, while N’golo Kante’s future remains in doubt at the West London club.
