Barcelona ready to let these two players leave to sign Alonso
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel over the weekend confirmed the club has granted their defender Marcos Alonso permission to leave this summer.
With the reports linking Alonso with moves to the Spanish side Barcelona.
However, Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, in a latest statement has confirmed that Samuel Umtiti and Martin Braithwaite must leave the club this summer for them to sign Alonso.
Laporta stressed that both players must “understand that it’s time to join another club”.
Owing to financial issues, Barca are trying to trim down both their squad and wage bill to be able to register new players.
Laporta said: “Umiti and Braithwaite? Both now understand that it’s time to join another club.”
On new arrivals, he added: “We will complete one more signing with an agreement in principle.”
The new signing is believed to be Chelsea defender, Alonso, with a deal very close to being finalized.
Owing to Alonso’s impending departure, Chelsea manager Tuchel left him out of his squad that faced Everton in their opening Premier League match over the weekend.
