The latest report has revealed that Spanish club Atletico Madrid have joined in the race to sign Germany international and Chelsea forward Timo Werner.

Atletico Madrid have joined the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, who are also monitoring Werner’s situation at Stamford Bridge as they hope to make a swoop on him in the following summer transfer window.

Although the Germany striker has been a regular for Chelsea since joining them from RB Leipzig in July 2020, he has made 60 appearances in all competitions and scored 14 goals and 16 assists.

However, Werner’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge remains unclear as the reports have claimed Chelsea prefer other options in the final third of the field.

Werner scored his first goal of the season for Chelsea during their last EPL match vs Southampton.

A recent report claimed that Bayern and Dortmund are determined to sign the 25-year-old, and according to TransferMarketWeb, there is also genuine interest from Atletico.

At the moment, Werner is considered a supplement at Stamford Bridge this season especially owing to the arrival of Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.
