Arteta confirms the departure of this Brazil star

Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Brazil international, David Luiz will be departing from the North London club at the end of this season.

Arteta in his statement went on to laud Luiz for his effort at Arsenal especially as he has been a resourceful player at their defence.

Recall that the report had gone viral a few days ago that the Brazil star would be leaving Arsenal.

Luiz moves to Arsenal from Chelsea two years ago but had some challenges in his first season as he struggled to perform but he bounced back in the subsequent season.

Paying tribute to Luiz, Arteta said: “He’s a player who has won everything in football and has earned every right to do so through who he is as a player and as a person.”

The Gunners coach went on to reveal he enjoyed Luiz’s time at the club.

”So I say thank you to him and wish him the best of luck in his next chapter because I’m sure knowing David that he will have many more to come as a player and in the future somehow related to the game,” Arteta added.

Aside from Luiz, Brazil winger, Willian will also be leaving the Gunners at the end of this season.
