Arsenal finally send farewell message to this striker
Arsenal on Tuesday finally sent a farewell message to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as they wish him all the best in his career.
This comes as Aubameyang took his transfer to Spanish club Barcelona by his hand without following the plan the Gunners had set out.
Arsenal had initially wanted Aubemeyang to join the Catalans on loan for the rest of this season, but the Gabon international instead flew to Spain to reach a separate agreement with the Catalans.
However, the Premier League club in a recent statement, also thanked Aubameyang for his contribution to the Emirates.
Arsenal made this known while confirming in a statement that the Gabon captain has left the club by mutual agreement.
“Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has left the club by mutual agreement,” Arsenal’s statement read.
“Auba has been our captain for the past two-and-a-half seasons and made 162 appearances, scoring 92 goals in all competitions.
“We wish Auba all the best for the next chapter in his career and thank him for his contribution to the club.”
Aubameyang moved to Emirate Stadium from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018.
The 32-year-old striker won the Premier League Golden Boot in his first full season in 2018/2019.
